Adding & Viewing Documents

MPWEB has the ability to attach miscellaneous documents to your equipment so that you can reference them later. Some common uses of the Documents function is to attach images of the unit, or attach PDFs as reference materials for maintenance that needs to be done.

There are restrictions on what can be added to Documents based on file size and file type.

Here are the accepted file types:

  • JPG
  • JPEG
  • GIF
  • PNG
  • XLS
  • XLSX
  • DOC
  • DOCX
  • PPT
  • PPTX
  • CSV

The file size cannot exceed 10 MB.

To access the Documents section, go to your Equipment Index and click on any unit. This will bring you to the Equipment Profile screen. Click on the Documents tab.

To add a new document click on the blue New button on the right. You will get a file explorer pop-up, asking you to choose a file to upload.

Once a file has been selected, you will have the option to add tags beneath the file name. These tags are used as keywords for the search box to help you find the documents easier. Entering tags is optional.

You can click the New button again if you wish to upload multiple files at once.

Note that if there are issue with file type the program will notify you here with bold text.

When you are ready to save the files click on the Start Upload button. The green bar to the right will fill in as the file is being uploaded, letting you know how far along it is.

Once the file is uploaded it will appear in your Documents list.

Clicking on the blue link under the Name column will immediately download/preview the document.

Clicking on the Date to the left of the file name will bring you to the edit screen. Here you can rename the item, add keywords, or delete the document altogether.

These documents stay in the equipment profile screen. They cannot be referenced anywhere else in MPWEB.
